D. Assante received the Laurea degree and the Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the University of Naples Federico II. Actually, he is Assistant Professor at the International Telematic University Uninettuno, where he also coordinates the didactic activities that the University organizes withthe Helwan University (Egypt). He is also coordinator of the first level Masterin "Energy Management" organized by the International Telematic University Uninettuno. He participated in the Working Group of the Ministry ofEducation, University and Research for the definition of the professional figures of the Higher Technical Institutes in the area of Energy Efficiency.
He has taken part to several national and international project both in the management and in the research activities. He has been the project coordinator of the Erasmus+ Strategic Partnership projects IN-CLOUD and IoT4SMEs, responsible for quality assurance of the Italo-Chinese satellite mission Limadou/CSES and academic referee of several Erasmus+ and LLP projects.He is also a founding member of the academic spin-off MAG s.r.l., where he isresponsible for activities related to energy efficiency and technological innovation.
His main research activities concerning electromagnetic modellingapplied to atmospheric discharges, transmission lines and particleaccelerators. He also deals with the Internet of Things, energy efficiency, engineering teaching. He is author of more than 40 publications and3 chapters in books. He has been Chairman of the Special Session on the Internet of Things Education at the Educon Conferences 2018 and 2019.
